Our power and energy-focused practice provides clients with an end-to-end service from entry to exit of their business transactions. Our work focuses both on utility-scale and off-grid/distributed energy sources and various technologies. (solar, wind, hydro, geothermal and hybrid technologies). 

Our services in this aspect include:   

• Assisting with project structuring, project development, and implementation.
• Reviewing/localizing project agreements including power purchase agreements, financing agreements, land lease agreements, interconnection, and wayleave agreements.
• Advising on the sale and acquisition of project companies and transfer of assets. 
• Performing legal and regulatory framework analysis and preparing due diligence reports.
• Supporting bids, procurement processes and M&A.
• Assisting with project company incorporation and licensing, legal documentation, and compliance.
• Interfacing with regulatory bodies.

• Assisting an international, publicly listed renewable energy-powered data processing and computing company on its investment project in Ethiopia.
• Lead the structuring, development, and implementation of the first foreign mini-grid project in Ethiopia.
• Assisting a pan-African development finance institution on energy policy and implementing its renewable energy portfolios in Ethiopia.
• Assisting private developers with the development and implementation of a solar PPP project in Ethiopia
• Assisting private developers with the development, negotiation, and implementation of a wind PPP project in Ethiopia.
• Assisting a UN agency with its clean transition program for procuring and deploying a solar power project.
• Assisting a regional telecom cable and fibre-optics company in its expansion project to Ethiopia.
